I’m Staying comes to Clifton College

ImstayingThanks to your votes, we did it! Clifton College are delighted to announce that the Redgrave Theatre is to be the next home of the I’m Staying art installation.

Part of the Bristol Biennial, I’m Staying is the neon creation of UWE graduate Shaun C Badham. Bold, brash and just a little bit 70s, it ‘comments on our relationship to place, community and change’. After launching on the side of the Arnolfini arts centre in Bristol’s Harbourside in May 2014, public voting placed it in the courtyard entrance to the Folk House, off Park Street in September.

Another round of voting brings it up the hill to Percival Road in Clifton for its Spring stint. Owned and managed by Clifton College, the theatre is well used by national and local professional, student and amateur theatre groups and performers.

Clifton College’s Director of Heritage, Fiona Hallworth says ‘We’re delighted that being active on social media has enabled us to be I’m Staying’s home for the next few months. It’s part of the culture of the College to participate in artistic pursuits. Shaun will be paying us a visit too, to talk to pupils about this and other projects’.

Details of launch to be confirmed, plus the chance to vote on where the installation will go next.
