Singing Day - 18 June 2014

Singing Day - 18 June 2014

Singing DayPupils from Year 1 and Year 2 played host to more than 400 pupils and staff from across Bristol at a special singing day in the Redgrave Theatre.

The theme of the day was 'holiday' and the children, and staff, were encouraged to dress up accordingly.

Pip Gillam, Head of Music, said: "We had an amazing time in the theatre singing songs with hundreds of children from schools all over Bristol.

"We opened our singing extravaganza with 'We're all going on a Summer Holiday' and then went on an exciting journey, through song, to many different places. We even travelled to Spain!

"We gave an outstanding performance of 'Come with me to the Beach' and then taught all the other children to sing it too.

"We finished our sing with our favourite 'Rockpool Rock' with all our groovy moves and then left the theatre to walk back to school in beautiful sunshine.

Mr Robson, the Director of Music in the Upper School, very kindly came and played the piano for us and was very impressed with the singing in Butcombe."

Well done to the following schools who took part: Waycroft; Horfield CEVC; Elmlea; Redland High; Torwood; Claremont; Henleaze; Kingfisher; Filton Avenue Infants.
