Pupil wins place at prestigious German academy

Photography Student wins Place at Prestigious Academy - 11 August 2014

Alexa2Viel Glück (Good Luck) to Alexa Borgert (Worcester House 2011-13) who has been offered a place to study photography at a prestigious German Academy.

Alexa is one of only 15 out of 500 applicants to have been offered the place at the Munich Academy of Fine Art.

Her skill in capturing light and shadow coupled with her ability to produce striking, traditionally based, black and white photographs using film and darkroom techniques, has enabled her to follow in the footsteps of artists who have studied there such as Paul Klee, Edvard Munch and Wassily Kandinsky.

Paul Wigginton, Head of Photography, said: "Alexa was determined to study photography to A2 at Clifton and this, coupled with her talent and hard work, has led her to what should be an exciting time in her photographic career."
