Clifton celebrates Harry Potter Day 2020

The Triwizard* Tournament came to Clifton College this year with all twelve houses competing to be crowned Triwizard* Champions.

Three tasks were constructed to ensure all students in the Upper School had a chance to compete for their house. The day kicked off with a Potter quiz during House Assembly, with each house encouraged to create their own spell – highlights included a spell to make a person’s teeth fall out and one to make noses melt! Morning break saw a cohort of enthusiastic crafters descend on the library to ‘transfigure’ twelve cardboard shark heads into something beautiful/surreal.

Throughout the day, dragon eggs were hidden in all corners of the school, each worth one point and eligible for a chocolatey treat exchange. We rounded the day off with a candlelight screening of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in the library, golden snitch cookies and everything! The tournament left two houses fighting for the top spot by the end of the day but, there could be only one winner – a massive congratulations to Slughorn Town (South Town) with 73 points!

Mischief managed!
