Amazing morning for Pre-Prep U8 Netball and Hockey Festival

On Saturday, the Pre-Prep hosted an U8 Girls’ Netball and U8 Boys’ Hockey Festival at Beggar’s Bush. It was an amazing morning of sport where all the Year 3 children had the opportunity to play at the same time. We hosted teams from The Downs, BGS, Cheltenham, Dean Close, Millfield, Redmaids’, Kingswood and All Hallows.

It was an exciting morning for the girls as it was the first time they had played the exciting new Bee Netball. The girls have thrived at this new adaptation of Netball, with everyone really enjoying the new game. Throughout the morning the girls developed their passing and receiving, spatial awareness and shooting. You could tell by ‘buzz’ and the smiles on their faces and that Bee Netball was a huge success.

The boys also had an enjoyable morning of Hockey. It was the first opportunity to play against other schools, which always adds an air of excitement. They played fantastically well throughout the morning, focusing on particular skills in each match. It was brilliant to see that their passing, tackling and positioning had improved each match they played.

A huge well done to all the children that played.
