Support us

Clifton College stands on the strength of our community. From our founders to the present day, we have been supported by generous supporters to offer bursarial support, develop our site, and prepare our pupils to follow their passions.

Central to our development goals is that access to Clifton College should be there for the most able and talented pupils, no matter what their circumstances are. Our bursarial programme provides opportunities for young people to attain their full potential and be supported to attend.

Welcome

Our school has always been shaped by the generosity and commitment of our community. Every gift we receive, whether by funding a bursary, supporting a new facility, or remembering the College in a will, will help us create transformative opportunities for our pupils. Thank you for being part of our story.

The power of support

Transforming lives

Sai, who left Clifton College in 2026, joined in Year 7 and throughout his time at the College became a Sports Scholar. Sai also received bursarial support, and is an outstanding example of the power this has to shape a young life.

After leaving Clifton College, Sai is now studying Accounting and Finance at Newcastle University.

"Looking back on my journey from Year 7 to Year 13, I am incredibly grateful for the bursary and sports scholarship that made my time at Clifton College possible. As part of the Performance Sports Programme, I was lucky enough to train under top-tier coaches and make full use of the brilliant facilities. A highlight was travelling to Dubai for the 2025 cricket tour, an opportunity made possible through the College's support, where playing overseas drastically elevated my cricket knowledge and confidence. My sports scholarship also unlocked new academic routes. Studying PE from Year 9 through Year 13 became a passion of mine, helping me grow both on and off the pitch. Beyond academics and athletics, the College’s unique opportunities, from university open days to Commem and House competitions, made my school years unforgettable. This scholarship was the key to a life-changing experience."

Ways to support

Open doors, change lives

We believe talent and potential should never be limited by financial circumstances. Our bursary programme provides life-changing opportunities for pupils who would otherwise be unable to attend the College.

Whether you’re contributing to our general bursary fund or establishing a named award, your support directly helps pupils thrive — academically, socially, and personally — within the Clifton community.

How you can help:

  • Make a one-off donation to the bursary fund

  • Set up a regular gift to provide ongoing support

  • Create a named bursary in honour of a loved one or OC

Passing on the torch in a legacy

Including Clifton College in your will is one of the most meaningful ways to make a lasting impact. Legacy gifts help us secure the future of the College, fund bursaries, and preserve the character and values that define a Clifton education.

All those who choose to leave a gift are invited to join the 1862 Club, which recognises and thanks our legacy supporters during their lifetime.

Why leave a legacy:

  • Support causes that matter to you — from widening access to sustaining excellence

  • Ensure future generations benefit from a Clifton education

  • Create a named legacy or remember a loved one through your gift

We can help you:

  • Understand the options available

  • Provide suggested wording for your will

  • Offer a confidential, no-obligation conversation

Building for the future

We pride ourselves on being the school every pupil needs us to be, and our buildings and facilities reflect that. From our historic Percival Library and cricket pavilion to the cutting-edge Chellaram Sports Complex, practically every facility we have has been made possible in some way thanks to the generosity of our community.

Capital gifts help us preserve the character of our estate while investing in the next generation of academic, co-curricular and pastoral life.

How you can help:

  • Major gifts

  • Named rooms, spaces or buildings

  • Corporate sponsorship
