For over one hundred and fifty years Clifton College has supported a vibrant Jewish community within its school. It is the only public school with its own synagogue, enabling Jewish students to maintain their Jewish identity while being a full participant in a public school.
The Polack’s House Educational Trust is an independent charitable organisation that provides means tested scholarships and bursaries for Jewish children at the College supporting children from year seven onwards. Recent recipients have gone on to fantastic universities including, Oxford, Exeter, Edinburgh and Bath.
Candidates must meet the criteria on being Jewish and demonstrate an interest in Judaism. Those who are supported by Polack’s House Educational Trust are expected to participate in and contribute to Jewish activities in the school.
How to Apply
In considering applications for financial support the Trustees will consider the means of the family, the engagement of the family with the Jewish community, the interest and commitment of the applicant in exploring his or her Jewish identity while at Clifton College and any other circumstances that the Trustees may consider relevant, such as connections between the family and Clifton College or Jewish education at Clifton College.
