Our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging programme (EDIB), is set up to ensure that everyone in our school feels valued, included and respected.

Our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging programme aims to:
Educate our community about EDIB
Celebrate the contributions of marginalised groups to history and to our contemporary society
Embrace and celebrate diversity
Give voice to all members of our community, providing them with the tools to talk about EDIB in a mature and informed way
Create a sense of belonging for all members of our community
From the very start of a pupil’s education we introduce them to the importance of kindness, fairness and celebrating diversity.
As our pupils mature, we develop their empathy and open-mindedness, and understanding about why representation and visibility matters. We have a pupil-led EDIB committee, and a staff EDIB committee to make sure all parts of our school are engaged in the programme.

We run annual celebrations including Black History Month, Pride, and Lunar New Year, as well as observing religious festivals such as Ramadan and Diwali.
In recent years we have made excellent progress across the school to diversify our curriculum so that pupils learn from a variety of viewpoints and experiences, our libraries are stocked full of books celebrating cultures, communities and lived experiences.

All this has contributed to us achieving the Silver Award for Racial Equity with Flair for each academic year since 2022.

We’re very proud to have a diverse community situated in one of the most culturally vibrant cities in the UK, we take great care to ensure our pupils can embrace this and develop into well-rounded young adults.
